Boeing 737 of China Eastern Airlines crashes in southern China

Video images made by the local population show that the aircraft has come down in a wooded, mountainous area. The images show parts of the wing of the Boeing 737-800. Other unverified images would show the final seconds of flight MU5735 (see bottom of this post).

On the basis of ADS-B transponder data from Flightradar24 indicates that shortly before the crash the aircraft was still flying at an altitude of more than 29,000 feet and made a sudden dive.

The crashed aircraft, with the registration B-1791, was delivered new from the factory to China Eastern in 2015. According to the aviation authorities, the occupants included 123 passengers and 9 crew members.

China Eastern, with a fleet of about six hundred aircraft It’sIt’sOne of the three largest airlines in China, it has a good track record in terms of safety. The company is a shareholder of Air France-KLM (9.6 percent) and a partner of KLM within SkyTeam.
