Brussels Airport starts summer season with more than 900,000 passengers

With the Easter holidays, the summer season is officially kicked off at Brussels Airport. During the holiday period, from Friday 1 April to Sunday 17 April, 900,000 passengers are expected at Brussels Airport. That is already almost 70 percent of the number of passengers in the same period before the pandemic in 2019. Last year there were only 138,000. Ok the number of last-minute bookings is high for this holiday period, so the number can still increase. Friday 1 April will be the busiest day of departure with approximately 33,500 departing passengers.

During the Easter holidays, travelers can choose from 140 destinations. Some popular destinations within Europe are Madrid, Barcelona, ​​​​Lisbon, Rome, Frankfurt and Vienna. New York, Dubai and Washington are especially popular intercontinental. The Easter holiday also marks the start of summer sun flights to popular destinations such as the Canary Islands, Spain, Portugal, Cape Verde, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, Greece and Turkey.
