Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi rose by 80 baisas per liter on Sunday. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel are sold at Rs 118.41 (up 84 baisa) and Rs. 102.64 (up 85 baisa).
This is the 11th fuel price increase in 13 days and the total hike is now Rs 8. Gasoline is now sold at Rs 103.41 a liter in Delhi and diesel is trading at Rs 94.67 a liter.
Frequent increases in fuel prices over the past 10 days undermine the margins of carriers, who will have to pass on the increases to their customers. This, in turn, is set to make the prices of everyday consumables and other goods more expensive, affect consumption, and slow economic growth, carriers and analysts say.
