Lufthansa Group will encourage travelers to fly ‘CO2 neutral’

There are three options: paying an extra amount to purchase sustainable fuel (SAF), making a financial contribution to an NGO’s climate initiative, or a combination of both. If you choose such an option, you will be rewarded with extra frequent flyer miles.

“We want to continue investing in sustainability and are now making it easier for our customers to contribute to this,” said the aviation group.

At the moment, the number of Lufthansa passengers flying climate neutral is still very low. “Less than one percent.” The Lufthansa Group wants to halve its emissions by 2030 compared to 2019. By 2050, the emissions must be net zero.
