This is the first of four A350s that Lufthansa has acquired from Philippine Airlines. That’s why they have the Philippine Airlines Business Class cabin, instead of the usual Lufthansa Business Class with a 2-2-2 setup. That is progress for passengers.
Lufthansa will deploy the ex-Philippine Airlines A350s on flights from Munich to the Canadian destinations of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The first flight departs this afternoon to Toronto.
Next year, Lufthansa will introduce its ‘own’ new Business Class product, which will come on many more aircraft and also offer direct aisle access for all passengers. The Germans have received a lot of criticism in recent years because their Business Class is no longer really up-to-date.
