KLM shareholders agree to appoint Marjan Rintel as new president

Shareholders have also approved the reappointment of Erik Swelheim as KLM Executive Board member and Chief Financial Officer. In addition, they agree to the reappointment of Fleur Pellerin and Cees ‘t Hart as members of the Supervisory Board.

The advisory process with the KLM Works Council has also been completed.

With the approval of the shareholders, Rintel can definitively start her first term as a board member of KLM. She has been appointed for a four-year term.

The 54-year-old Rintel, who is still a top woman at the Dutch Railways, worked for many years in management positions for (Air France) KLM before her departure to the railways.

The appointment follows the nomination of Rintel by the KLM Supervisory Board in March this year. She succeeds Pieter Elbers, who will resign from his duties as CEO on 1 July at the latest after eight years as CEO.
