KLM starts paying off government loan

The airline entered into a loan package of 3.4 billion euros in 2020. In the end, 942 million of this was actually used. In the first quarter of 2022, as in 2021 as a whole, nothing was drawn. By repaying 311 million euros, the outstanding debt will be reduced to 631 million euros.

“An extremely important step in many respects that underlines the resilience and commitment of all KLM colleagues. In the coming period, the focus will be on repaying the loans on the one hand and on the operation and workload on the other. Numerous measures are taken to ensure that the summer will go better than the situation in recent weeks,” said Elbers.
