World Cup hotels in Qatar are not allowed to discriminate against guests for sexual preference

According to Reuters news agency, a Scandinavian media survey found that three of the 69 hotels on FIFA’s official list of recommended accommodations do not allow same-sex couples to stay together. These are Wyndham Grand Regency Doha, The Torch Doha and Magnum Hotel & Suites Westbay.

At twenty other hotels, same-sex couples are welcome, as long as they do not make this public. A total of 33 hotels have indicated that they have no problems booking same-sex place.

Homosexuality is prohibited in Qatar. The country will host the FIFA World Cup from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
