WisdomTree Brent Crude Oil 1x short per day (SBRT ETC) It is designed to enable investors to “short” the total return on investment in a Brent Crude Oil Futures Agreement by tracking the Bloomberg Brent Crude Oil SL Index (“the Index”) and provide an additional return. A short daily exposure means that the product is designed to reflect minus once the percentage daily change in the index level.
For example, if an index is going to rise in value by 5% on a given day, the goal of the product is to reduce the value by 5% on that day (minus fees and charges). WisdomTree Brent Crude Oil 1x Daily Short is an exchange-traded commodity (“ETC”). It is not a UCITS product.
The securities in this ETC are organized as promissory notes and not as shares (equity) and can be created and redeemed at the request of authorized participants and traded on the exchange just like shares in a company. ETC is supported by swaps. Counterparty payments claims in the swap are protected by the issuer with guarantees that are maintained daily. The security is kept in segregated accounts at Bank of New York Mellon.
Bloomberg Brent Crude Oil SL Total Return Index
The index is designed to reflect the movement in the price of the second Brent crude futures contract during the first month, which is constantly rotated according to a pre-determined rolling schedule. On each trading day, the ETC yield, excluding fees and expenses, will be positive when the index goes down relative to the previous day’s close and negative when the index goes up relative to the previous day’s close.
