Brussels Airlines: sustainable flying option together with reservation

Brussels Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, offers three options to compensate: booking SAF (sustainable aviation fuel), supporting “high-quality CO2 compensation projects” or a combination of both.

“What’s new is that these options can now be selected at time of booking and it’s a single transaction,” the company said in a statement. Payment is made immediately upon purchase of the flight ticket.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to neutralize the CO2 emissions of their flight. So far, less than one percent of online bookers have taken advantage of our long-standing option to fly carbon neutral,” said Peter Gerber, CEO.

He continues: “By integrating the options into the reservation itself, I am confident that we will convince significantly more of our passengers to fly CO2 neutral and thus contribute to dugreza.”
