The US Travel Association has repeatedly called on President Biden to withdraw the testing requirement. Eben Peck, executive vice president of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), calls the regulation “the biggest barrier to the full recovery of the international travel system.”
No longer backed by science
Following the meeting, Roger Dow, president and CEO of the US Travel Association, issued the following statement; “While nearly all other U.S. industries operate without restrictions, the travel industry continues to be disproportionately harmed by this requirement, even though science no longer supports it.”
According to a recent survey of vaccinated international travelers in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan in India, more than half said the uncertainty of possibly having to cancel if we have a verega test on booking of a trip.
